Offering health insurance is a vital and valued benefit program for employees.  Other valued benefits include dental, vision, life insurance, disability, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), dependent care, AFLAC, and so much more!

Effective January 1, 2016, applicable large employers, or ALE, are required to offer health insurance to all full-time eligible and full-time equivalent employees subject to ACA standards; meeting affordability and minimum value calculations.  If an ALE chooses not to offer an ACA-compliant health plan, the ALE is subject to penalties.  Here are a few questions to consider:

Do you have a health plan in effect now for your employees?
Is your health plan compliant with ACA standards?
Do you have a carve-out classification for executives or union employees?
Are you considered a large employer?
What are the potential penalties to your business for not offering health insurance?
How does my business compare to competition when offering benefits to employees?

There is no cookie-cutter health plan and no cookie-cutter answer to ACA and available health insurance programs.
